Terms of Service

1. About us

This website, ceccatocolombo.lk, is operated by Ceccato Colombo (Pvt) Ltd ("Ceccato", "we", "us"), a company registered in Sri Lanka under registration number PV16458, with its registered office No 28/2 Biyagama Road, Thalwatta, Gonawala, Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Our head office and warehouse is at No 28/2 Biyagama Road, Thalwatta, Gonawala, Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.

2. Accepting these terms

These terms apply to every order placed on this website. Before you can proceed to payment you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not place an order.

3. Placing an order

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to place an order.
  • Please give accurate contact, delivery and payment details. A telephone number is required so that we can arrange delivery.
  • After you place an order you will receive an email confirming that we have received it. We may contact you if an item is unavailable, and offer a replacement or a refund for that item.
  • We may decline or cancel an order — for example if a product is out of stock, if a price was shown in error, or if we cannot deliver to the address given. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund you in full.

4. Products

  • Our products are food and related items, imported from Italy or made by us in Sri Lanka. Product photographs are for illustration; packaging may differ.
  • Ingredient and allergen information is taken from the product labels. Recipes and suppliers can change, so if you have an allergy or dietary requirement please always check the label on the product you receive, and contact us if you are unsure.
  • Frozen products are marked with a blue snowflake. They are delivered frozen and must be placed in a freezer (−18°C) as soon as they arrive.

5. Prices and payment

  • All prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). Prices include applicable taxes. Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Online payments are made by Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and are processed securely by Cybersource, a Visa company. We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Your order is confirmed once payment has been authorised. [Add, if offered online: bank transfer or cash on delivery within Colombo, and how they work.]
  • Prices may change from time to time. Changes do not affect orders already confirmed.

6. Delivery and collection

Delivery areas, delivery days and charges are set out in our Shipping policy. You can also collect your order free of charge from our warehouse in Gonawala, Kelaniya, or from Ceccato Market, 213 Galle Road, Colombo 00300.

7. Returns, refunds and cancellations

As our products are food, returns are only accepted in the circumstances set out in our Return and Refund policy — for example if an item arrives damaged, defective or incorrect. Please read that policy before ordering.

8. Discount codes and gift cards

  • Discount codes can be used once per customer unless stated otherwise, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be combined with other discounts unless stated.
  • Gift cards are redeemable on this website against products, cannot be exchanged for cash and are valid for the time period mentioned on the voucher. 

9. Trade customers

Orders from hotels, restaurants, retailers and other trade customers placed through a trade account are supplied on the trade terms agreed with us separately.

10. Our liability

We take care to describe our products accurately and to deliver them in good condition. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or that result from products not being stored as instructed after delivery. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act of Sri Lanka or any other applicable law, or our liability for anything that cannot legally be limited.

11. Website content

The text, photographs, logos and design of this website belong to Ceccato or its suppliers and may not be copied or used without our permission. Brand names of the products we import belong to their owners.

12. Your information

We use the details you give us to process and deliver your order and, if you choose, to send you news and offers. See our Privacy policy for how we handle personal information.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Sri Lanka.
